Socialmetrix is a Latin American pioneer in the development of technology that provides Market Intelligence Solutions through the research and analysis of CGM (Consumer Generated Media) and traditional online media.

Today, Socialmetrix has clients all over America, including Brazil, Mexico and the USA, and has online analysis capabilities in English, Spanish and Portuguese and partnerships with some of the biggest marketing and PR agencies in the world.

Socialmetrix recently received Series A investment from A&N Media, part of DMGT, the largest and most traditional multimedia group in the UK. A&N Media made the decision to invest in Socialmetrix after having monitored its rapid growth in South America during the past two years.

Founded by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs from the payday and personal loans industry, our company is the result of many years of innovation in consumer research and knowledge.

We are aware that today, the communication paradigm includes new parties, channels and ways of communication, ranging from Blogs, Forums and Review Sites, to Social Networks and chain e-mails. As such, new methodologies and techniques are required in order to understand, codify and use this information to maximize the benefit for our client’s brands.

In our field, a wide range of knowledge and experience is necessary for innovation. That is why our team is built of a small and strong group of professionals with expertise and a deep understanding in fields including market research, web mining, data mining, linguistics and natural language processing, business analysis, marketing and project management.



At the end of 2010, Socialmetrix was awarded Enterprising Firm of the Year by Endeavor, and its founding members distinguished during the Annual Gala Dinner celebrated in Buenos Aires.

In 2009, during Socialmetrix´ first year of operation, the company, sponsored by the Endeavor Foundation, was awarded special mention for being one of the most innovative companies in Latin America at La Red Innova Conference in Madrid. Later that year, Socialmetrix won the BAEmprende program, organized by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.



Alex Mendez, Storm Ventures

Alex is a founding managing director of Storm Ventures since 2000. He was an investor and CEO/Chairman of Sanera Systems (acquired by McData) and served on the McData Board of Directors until 2007. He was also an investor/Board Member of Airespace (acquired by Cisco). His investment focus is on wireless, data centers (computing & storage) and software (Web 2.0 & Enterprise).

Alex holds a BSEE from Stanford University, and an MBA from Santa Clara University (he serves on the Advisory Board of the GSB). He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Eric Descombes, Y&R Mexico

Eric is President of Y&R and Wunderman Mexico since August 2008. Prior to this experience he was Mexico Managing Director for Experian and member of the board of Ogilvy group. He has more than 15 years of expertise in Marketing, CRM, Digital and Advertising areas. Since 1991 he has been a pioneer in the development of interactive projects; he started his own company several years before the arrival of internet in Mexico.

Eric has completed several courses on technological advances in the United States and Europe, holds a Master in Direct Marketing and has been invited to several conferences at various events worldwide.
